T o transform live training sessions into a self-study DVD is the objective of this joint collaboration between the Association of Wall and Ceiling Industries and the Steel Framing Alliance. Advance Concepts has been chosen to create the DVD-based product that will consist of 13 training modules accompanied by an existing manual. Each module is professionally narrated and includes video, a searchable glossary and content, supplemental industry tools in PDF format and a question and answer section. After completing each module, the viewer is prompted to take an onscreen test that automatically tallies the results, displays them to the viewer, and sends the test score to the client.

Normally an endeavor of this size, encompassing over 800 slides and other media, would prove to be a giant undertaking. First, Advance Concepts gave the client's existing PowerPoint slides a sophisticated new look. Then, using a multimedia authoring application designed for this purpose, we combine the reformatted PowerPoint slides with media produced in our in-house video and audio recording facilities to make short work of what otherwise might be a lengthy production schedule.
