I .T. Works, Inc., a workforce training and development company, hired Advance Concepts to produce a multimedia CD-ROM for their Nursing Assistant Certification Training Program to help bring more qualified patient care assistants into the health profession. Today, most health care education programs rely on registered nurses to train assistants. But that training is limited, because these nurses have full-time nursing obligations. So as a market demand for nursing assistants increases, finding available and qualified teachers is a struggle.

To solve this problem, we developed an interactive training toll to lessen the load on classroom administrators by providing an alternate training solution. The CDs will be used in place of, or as a supplement to, the classroom theory part of the curriculum. With such a product, I.T. Works would be helping people who need job training and organizations who are seeking qualified workers. I.T. Workers goal is to transform one of its core services into a tangible, revenue-producing product that can be customized, licensed, and distributed wherever the need arises.

The self-guided program features text, photos, and spoken narration, and is navigated in whatever order the user chooese. It also featurs a unique "self-assessment" tool to allow the user to concentrate on the area in which they need the most work, and a password feature which allows several users to share a disc or a workstation.
